Actives
Ingredients that actively work on your skin.
These are the performance-driven ingredients selected to deliver specific skincare benefits such as hydration, barrier support, brightening, soothing, exfoliation or skin renewal.
Examples Vitamin C, Niacinamide, Panthenol, Ceramides, Bakuchiol.
Botanicals
The goodness of plants.
These are botanical oils, butters, extracts and other plant-derived ingredients chosen for their nourishing, soothing, conditioning or antioxidant properties.
Examples Aloe vera extract, Jojoba Oil, Rose extract, Ayurvedic herbs and botanical extracts.
Carriers & Conditioners
The foundation that makes the formula feel good and work well.
Carriers and conditioning ingredients help deliver the active and botanical ingredients to the skin while giving the product its texture, spreadability and sensory feel. They also help soften, smooth and condition the skin.
Examples Aqua, Hydrosols, Aloe vera leaf juice, Glycerin, Shea Butter, Plant oils and other moisturising or conditioning agents.
Delivery & Defence
The ingredients that make the formula safe, stable and effective.
These ingredients help deliver the formulation evenly to the skin and protect the product from contamination and deterioration. They may not be the ingredients you hear about most, but they are essential to creating a product that remains safe, stable and enjoyable to use throughout its shelf life.
Includes Emulsifiers, solubilisers, surfactants, preservatives, antioxidants, stabilisers and pH adjusters.
